UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE

 Assistant Program Director, Statewide Cooperative Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, University of Missouri-Columbia (January 2005-present). Responsibilities include assisting the director with coordination of program with five other Missouri Institutions and managing all aspects of program admissions, curriculum and instruction.

 

 Program Director, Statewide Cooperative Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, University of Missouri-Columbia (January, 1999-April, 2002). Responsibilities included coordination of program in cooperation with five other Missouri institutions of higher education, chairing program’s Coordinating Committee, and coordinating all aspects of program admissions, curriculum, and instruction.

 

Chair, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, University of Missouri-Columbia (July 1, 1999-February, 2001). Responsibilities included providing leadership for eighteen faculty members and master's, educational specialist, and doctoral programs (both Ed.D. and Ph.D.) in the areas of Educational Administration, Higher and Continuing Education, and Educational Policy Studies. This also included serving as Director of Graduate Studies for the Department.

 

Associate Chair, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, University of Missouri-Columbia (1994-95).  In this role responsibilities included working with the chair and other associate chair in facilitating the coming together of curriculum, policy, and procedures of the two previous departments (Educational Administration and Higher and Adult Education and Foundations) that were merged in Fall 1994.

 

Professor-in-Charge, Graduate Programs in Adult Education, The Pennsylvania State University (1990-91).  As Professor-in-Charge, responsibilities included providing leadership, oversight, and coordination for the Adult Education Program at four university locations. Responsibilities included course planning and scheduling, budgeting, assignment of graduate assistantships, formalizing faculty service on students' committees, policy development, and student admissions, advising graduate student associations, all in cooperation and consultation with five other Adult Education Program faculty members and the Head, Department of Adult Education and Instructional Systems. 

 

Head, Division of Extramural Courses, Office of Continuing Education and Public Service, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1983-87).  Reported to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Director of the Office of Continuing Education and Public Service.  Primary responsibilities included providing leadership for the planning, administration, marketing, and evaluation of the Division's programs, including allocation of financial resources from state and revolving budgets. Supervision of fifteen academic and nonacademic employees, and development of overall policy and procedures for the administration of the Division; working with the Graduate College in policy development and implementation and in off-campus graduate degree program approval and evaluation.

 

Assistant Head, Division of Extramural Courses, Office of Continuing Education and Public Service, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1979-83). Reported to Head, Division of Extramural Courses.  Responsibilities included assisting the Division Head in the development of overall policy and procedures for the administration of the Division and developing, with campus academic units, a local noncredit program.

 

Program Assistant, Office of the Provost for University Outreach, University of Wisconsin System (1974-79).  In addition to serving as administrative assistant to the Provost for University Outreach, assisted in policy development, policy coordination, and monitoring of policy compliance related to off-campus credit course outreach of University of Wisconsin System institutions.
