Nicole Campione-Barr, PhD
Assistant Professor
University of Missouri
Dr. Campione-Barr graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1999. She then went on to attend graduate school at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY and obtained her Master’s (2004) and Ph.D. (2006) degrees in Developmental Psychology. Her research interests focus on family relationships during adolescence and how multiple relationships impact one another, as well as how they impact the adolescent's development. Her current areas of interest are: the impact of sibling relationships and sibling ordinal status on adolescent autonomy development, interaction and communication differences in multiple parent-child dyads in the family, and the content of sibling conflicts during adolescence.

Jennifer Ford, B.A.
Lab Coordinator
Jennifer graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2006.  She currently serves as the Senior Lab Coordinator for the Family Relationships and Adolescent Development Lab.  Beginning in August 2008 she will be obtaining her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Missouri State University.

Beth Thoma-Perry, B.A.
Assistant Lab Coordinator
Beth graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2007.  She currently serves as the Assistant Lab Coordinator in the Family Relationships and Adolescent Development Lab.  Beginning in August 2008 she will be obtaining her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Webster University.

Kelly Bassett, B.A.
Graduate Student
Kelly graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College (Rochester, NY) with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies in 2006. In the fall of 2007, she began her graduate studies at MU in Developmental Psychology (with a minor in Women’s & Gender Studies) under the supervision of Dr. Nicole Campione-Barr. Her current research interests include family relationships, body image, and gender studies. She is currently working on a master's thesis entitled, “Autonomy Development and the Influence of Temperament.”

Martha Early, B.A.
Graduate Student
Martha is pursuing a Ph.D. in the joint Child-Clinical/Developmental program at the University of Missouri. She is interested in the development of anxiety and depression in children. In particular Martha investigates early behavioral indicators of risk for anxiety and depression, as well as behaviors that may serve to better distinguish the similar experiences of anxiety and depression in children.  Martha’s primary advisor is Dr. Debi Bell (Child-Clinical) and her secondary advisor is Dr. Nicole Campione-Barr (Developmental).

Marcia Kearns, M.Ed.
Graduate Student
Marcia is a graduate student in the joint Child-Clinical/Developmental Psychology program at the University of Missouri. Before coming to Missouri, she completed a B.S. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Child Studies from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. She is interested in improving mental health treatments for children and families. Within this broader context, she is interested in normative and maladaptive family interactions, therapy process and outcome, session impact, and in patient, provider, and organizational factors that affect treatment outcome. Her primary advisor is Dr. Kristin Hawley (Child-Clinical) and her secondary advisor is Dr. Nicole Campione-Barr (Developmental).
