Q) Who is eligible to participate?
A) We are looking for families where the first-born child will be entering 8th, 10th, or 12th grade in the fall of 2008. We are asking that one or both parents participate, along with the first-born and second-born children in the family.
Q) What if I have more than two children?
A) It is okay if there are more than 2 children in the family, but we only need the two oldest children to participate.
Q) What if only I can come but my spouse can not?
A) That is fine. We can send home a paper copy or email an electronic version of the surveys to your spouse.
Q) Is it okay if my other child(ren) come with me?
A) Yes, we have extra chairs that are available. We suggest that they bring something to occupy two hours of their time.
Q) What is the time commitment?
A) We are asking your family to come into our University lab one time for approximately two hours.
Q) What exactly will we be doing while we are there?
A) During the time you are in our lab, each family member will complete some surveys, be interviewed, and the two children will participate in a couple of discussions with one another.
Q) What days/times are available to participate?
A) We will be conducting sessions on weekday evenings as well as Saturdays. In addition, during the summer, we will be offering limited weekday time slots.
